Enjoy this little known gem of Melbourne in Bunyip State Park with scenic views at the Four Brother Rocks viewpoint along the way. The 11.4km circuit also takes you through one of the only places in Victoria that our flora emblem (the Common Heath), our fauna emblem (the Leadbeater’s possum), and avian emblem (the Helmeted Honeyeater) can all be found.
Start and end point: Mortimer Picnic ground off Gembrook Tonimuk Road
Grade: Moderate
Length: 11.4km
Elevation gain: 465m
Expected walking duration: 3h 40m
Equipment: A small backpack with 1.5-2L water, and sun protection. A good pair of runners is necessary or even better, a pair of hiking shoes or boots. The main benefit of hiking shoes will be some waterproofing, and sturdier soles for better balance and support. Hiking poles are optional and may be beneficial for steeper sections of the walk. They are good for adding balance and taking some load off the legs (and we can teach you how to use these properly if never used before!)
Inclusions:
Full insurance for all participants
Parks Victoria Licensed guide trained as a wilderness first aid responder
Snack during and post walk
